Venue, travel and accommodation

The National Student Space Conference (NSSC) 2026 will be held at Bush House, King’s College London. 

The event will utilize the building’s modern lecture theatres and central exhibition spaces.

Conference registration will take place in the Ground Floor Arcade of Bush House, the address of which is 30 Aldwych, London, WC2B 4BG.

Venue & Arrival Information

Event Spaces: The conference utilizes the main lecture theatres and auditorium, with exhibitors and networking hubs centrally located in the foyer.

Arrival & Registration: Please enter via 30 Aldwych, where UKSEDS volunteers will be stationed to greet you and direct you to the registration desk.

Facilities: Multi-faith prayer rooms and spaces for quiet reflection are available for all attendees in the nearby King’s Building.

How to get there

Travel bursaries are available for UKSEDS members and branch groups travelling more than 50 miles to our National Student Space Conference.

Travelling to London

London has several major train stations that serve central London. For King’s College London, the most convenient arrival stations are London Waterloo, London Charing Cross, London Blackfriars, and London Bridge.

Tickets can be bought at train stations or online at Trainline or National Rail.

— Space for luggage on trains is limited

— There are no trolleys at most London train stations, and when travelling you may need to move your luggage between platforms or carry it during short walks to campus

National Express

National Express coach services are available from all major towns and airports in England. National Express offer a 20% discount for students.

Travel tips

Check your luggage allowance and pay for any additional luggage when you book your ticket.

If you are flying into the UK, book your coach ticket for approximately 3 hours after you are due to land.

Park and Ride

Park and Ride services allow you to park outside central London and continue your journey by public transport into the city.

There are several Park and Ride options serving London, typically operated by local councils and connected via rail or Underground services.

Common Park and Ride locations include outer London rail stations with direct services into central London, such as stations on the National Rail and London Underground networks.

Services run frequently throughout the day, including evenings and weekends.

Parking

Parking in central London is very limited. King’s College London does not provide general visitor parking at its central campuses. Public car parks are available nearby but can be expensive and subject to congestion and emissions charges. Information on public parking and restrictions in London can be found here.

London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport is one of the main international airports serving central London.

The London Underground (Piccadilly Line) runs directly from Heathrow to central London, with interchanges for stations close to King’s College London.

The National Express train runs from Heathrow to London Paddington

From there, you can continue your journey by Underground or bus to King’s College London.

National Express offers coach services from London Heathrow to central London.

Licensed taxis and private hire vehicles (including Uber) are available from designated pick-up areas at the airport.

London Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick Airport is approximately 30 miles south of central London.

Direct trains run from Gatwick Airport station to London Victoria, London Blackfriars, and London Bridge, providing easy onward travel to King’s College London.
National Express offers coach services from London Gatwick to central London.
Licensed taxis and private hire vehicles (including Uber) are available from designated pick-up areas at the airport.

London Stansted Airport

London Stansted Airport is approximately 40 miles north-east of central London.

The Stansted Express train runs from Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street, from where you can travel onward by Underground or bus to King’s College London.

National Express operates frequent coach services from Stansted Airport to central London.

London Luton Airport

London Luton Airport is approximately 35 miles north of central London.

Train services run from Luton Airport Parkway to London St Pancras International, providing easy access to King’s College London.
National Express offers coach services from London Luton Airport to central London.

Airport taxis

You can book a private taxi from the airport. Some taxi companies offer an airport transport service or other long-distance transfers. You can book directly with these companies. Companies will charge different prices, so compare prices and read reviews before booking.

Travelling to the University

Plan your route using a walking route planner such as Google Maps or Route You.

Several bus companies operate across London. Further information on available services, routes, and timetables can be found via Transport for London (TfL).

The most convenient bus routes to King’s College London depend on the campus you are travelling to. Multiple TfL bus services stop near the Strand, Waterloo, and Guy’s campuses, with journey times varying based on location and traffic.

Alternative bus routes are widely available across central London, and TfL buses provide frequent connections from major train and Underground stations to areas close to King’s College London.

Taxi apps

Some taxi companies in London (Uber) have mobile apps that you can use to get a quote for the cost of the journey and use to book your journey. 

Taxis from the bus or train station 

There are taxis waiting just outside Kings Cross train station.

You will most likely need to pay cash, although some taxis take card payments. The cost will depend on how far you need to travel, but within the main city it should cost between £5 and £15.

Student discounts

You can get reduced rail fares with a 16-25 Railcard (also available to full-time mature students).

Please note there are many parking restrictions within the city centre. The closest car park is a 5 minute walk from the conference venue. Other car parks are available a further distance away.

If you are planning to drive into London, we recommend using the TFL service instead of driving into the city.

Accommodation

Stay close to the action. There are numerous hotels located within a 5-10 minute walk of the venue, ranging from budget-friendly options to premium stays in Covent Garden.
