UKSEDS is headed by an Executive Committee elected for one-year terms at our Annual General Meeting, and a Board of External Trustees appointed for three-year terms. The current committee was elected in May 2026.

The Executive Committee (2025/26)

Harry Szpuk

Chair

Harry is a recent MSci Computer Science graduate from the University of Nottingham. Through the Nottingham Space Society, he participated in and oversaw a range of student space competitions, including the UKSEDS Satellite Design Competition, and went on to found Nottingham’s first REXUS/BEXUS team, where he served as Software Lead on a stratospheric experiment.
As Chair, Harry hopes to support the Executive Committee and their teams in delivering the organisational change and membership impact they’re working towards. He will also focus directly on growing the competitions programme, promoting the new competition season, and strengthening UKSEDS’s digital infrastructure. He is passionate about opening up hands-on space experience to students from every background, as UKSEDS once did for him.

Kennedy Kouloumbris

Vice-Chair

Kennedy is the Vice-Chair and an Executive Trustee. She has previously held the Regional Coordinator (London & South of England) position before becoming Regional Coordinator (Scotland) and Partnerships Officer; and has also supported the logistical planning and delivery of the National Student Space Conference. 

Kennedy is a graduate of MSc Global Strategy and Sustainability at the University of Edinburgh, holds a BA (Hons) Spanish and International Business; and is passionate about engaging more people in space through learning and practical opportunities so that every student and early career professional can reach for the stars.

Desmond Li

Treasurer

Desmond is a PhD researcher in Composite Engineering at the University of Bristol, with an MSc in Space Systems Engineering from the University of Southampton. 

Through UKSEDS, Desmond manages finance and government grants while developing industry partnerships. His experience spans R&D engineering, strategic funding, and business development within the space sector.

Daniel Lobo

Secretary

Daniel currently works as an Optimisation Analyst in the construction logistics industry leading & delivering digital transformation and continuous improvement projects through data, systems, and process improvement. He holds an MSc in Engineering Management from Coventry University and have been fascinated by space and astronomy for as long as he can remember. 

Over the past year, Daniel helped strengthen the foundations of the UKSEDS Membership Team. As Secretary, he hopes to bring his analytical, logical, and ambitious mindset to help ensure & build stronger foundations for UKSEDS to support its future growth and ambitions.

Blessing Ogunlade

At-Large

Blessing is a second year Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Bristol. Before taking her first role within UKSEDS, she worked as a Senior Analyst for the Bristol Engineering Research team, publishing a paper on self-healing composites. She has participated in several engineering competitions, including a finalist at the Airbus Space Competition. Blessing remains fascinated by learning and research, taking key interest in space, STEM advocacy and student leadership.

Hamnah Javed

At-Large

Hamnah is a 2026 UCL BSc Mathematics graduate, with an interest in data science and applied maths. Prior to her role as Executive At-Large, Hamnah was a member of the Careers and Skills Development Team, where she has helped deliver interactive events to highlight different career paths within the space industry.
