Yesterday the Exeter Radio Telescope at Caradon (XRT-C) Project launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to reach their £2100 target to raise funds for the dish of a radio telescope for use by students in the UK.
The XRT-C project is an official UKSEDS national project, led by a group of students from the University of Exeter in Devon, with an aim to plan, construct and operate a 4.5m dish radio telescope. The team aims to use the telescope as a tool of both education and research for students within the University of Exeter (“UoE”) and additionally, on a local and national scale, offer access to use of radio telescope to those who otherwise would be without.
At the time of writing, there are still 29 days left in the campaign which finishes on Thursday, 25th September 2014 11:36 AM BST. Any size of pledge is very much appreciated!
