UKSEDS National Student Space Conference 2014

The 26th Annual UKSEDS National Student Space Conference will be held on the weekend of 1-2 March 2014, and hosted by Leicester AstRoSoc at the University of Leicester.
UKSEDS are pleased to announce registration is now open. Please note that early-bird tickets are available for a short time only until the end of January. Details of available travel and accommodation can be found at ukseds.org/nssc2014. Special discount accommodation rates have been kindly offered via Go Leicestershire and this should be booked before 12th February. Limited travel subsidies are available (10 – 50%) are available for UKSEDS members and branch groups travelling more than 150 miles, and attending both days of the conference. Interested groups should get in contact with us.
We are happy to announce that Reaction Engines Ltd. will be a Gold sponsor, and will be represented by Richard Varvill, Technical Director, as well as a number of other Reaction Engines staff.
There will also be a wide range of speakers including: David Ault (Big Bang Fairs), David Johnson (AMSAT-UK), Chad Anderson (Space Angels Network), Prof. Richard Brown (Centre for Future Air-Space Transportation Technology, University of Strathclyde) and Steve Leach (University of Leicester) along with many other prominent space organisations.
On the evening of the 1st March (Saturday), there will be a networking reception kindly sponsored by Reaction Engines Ltd, which will provide attendees with an excellent opportunity to network with the exhibitors in a more informal atmosphere – refreshments will be provided. This will be followed by an evening social event at the University of Leicester, which includes a hot buffet and bar.
On the 2nd (Sunday) we will hold our Annual General Meeting at which the UKSEDS committee will present its report for the year, and members will be able to stand for election to the committee. Details of this will be available on our website shortly.

We hold regular stargazing events at the University observatory, rocketry related events and socials such as bar crawls, pub quizzes and a trip to London.
We are also a branch of UKSEDS (UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) – an organisation that offers national workshops and events for our members.
