Space Careers Talk
Speaker: Armin Ziadlourad, Space Careers Team Lead
Today's talk will be all about careers in space, and how to access the space industry. We will briefly cover upstream and downstream space jobs, along with the mechanics of the space industry in Europe. There will also be a brief discussion of some example space jobs, as well as an opportunity to ask questions at the end!
Science with Nano-satellites
Speaker: Prof. Dhiren Kataria, CubeSat R&D Program Lead and Head of In-Situ Detection Systems at Mullard Space Science Laboratory, UCL
Advancements in the development of small satellites, particularly in the CubeSat form factor, has opened up significant opportunities for rapid technology development, cutting-edge science, hands on education and public outreach. In this talk, I will provide an overview of this mini “revolution” in the space domain and discuss some of the exciting science that is being done. In particular, I will discuss a bunch of missions in Low-Earth and Very Low Earth (<350 km atlitude) orbit where CubeSats provide an attractive low cost platform for some really exciting science.
