About
UKSEDS invites you to take part in the Student Space Symposium on October 9th 2021. The symposium is a virtual event that provides students the opportunity to write and present space-related papers to an audience of their peers, with the potential of being published in a peer-reviewed journal.
In order to be considered, students must submit an abstract between 200 and 250 words by 4th August using this Google Form. Selected students will be expected to develop their abstracts into full papers, of no more than six pages, which they will present during the symposium.
Abstracts can be based on any space-related topic of interest to the writer, including but not limited to space law, education, architecture, medicine, astronomy, planetary sciences, satellites, etc. Of the papers presented, a number will be selected to be featured in a special UKSEDS edition of the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society*, JBIS. Students may submit one or more abstracts, but only one paper will be accepted at most.
More information on how to write an abstract was provided at the Abstract Writing webinar on the 30th June. A video of the webinar is available here.
The symposium will also serve as a medium to network and develop relationships with other students and space professionals who will be livestreaming the event.
Please note, you must be a UKSEDS member to submit an abstract. You can join for free here.
*subject to peer review before publication
