If you want a career in space, you need to choose a degree course that’s going to take you in the right direction. Your first decision is whether to study science or engineering.

There are now a large number of science courses that include a significant element of Astronomy and/or Astrophysics. Any of these would be a good starting point for a space related scientific career. Some of these courses lead to a Bachelors degree, others to a Masters.

There are a few engineering courses that contain a significant number of space related modules and we have included these below. However, a degree in the more general subject of Aerospace Engineering is a good starting point for an engineer looking to work in the space industry.
