UKSEDS were present in force at the UK Space Conference (UKSC), held at Charterhouse, Godalming, Surrey, last week helping ensure proceedings ran smoothly.  Our team of blueshirts acted as runners, moderators and session chairs throughout the week and enjoyed the plethora of sessions by space representatives from across the world.  Video calls were made with speakers around the world, such as Peter H. Diamandis (founder of X-Prize, SEDS and the International Space University), and many others.   Also, space.co.uk helped us to broadcast many of the talks online! All in all, it was a very successful conference and we are working towards our goal to have more presence on the web and provide opportunities to members who are not able to make events!

Moreover, at the Arthur C. Clarke awards near the close of the conference, our very own Vice-Chair Aron Kisdi was honoured with the Student Award!

“Do not think I accomplished all of this alone… I would like to dedicate this award all of you who did something towards the UK student space community.  Even if it is just something small it will help to publicise space activities, to offer opportunities to students and advance UK space technology to a world-leading position.  Because you are the future, we are the generation who have the chance to explore the stars, and UKSEDS is here to help to accomplish your dreams.  It helped to accomplish mine.”
