Cranfield University SEDS
CranSEDS has been re-started in 2010-2011 by Cranfield University MSc Astronautics and Space Engineering students. CranSEDS has 19 members (April 2011). CranSEDS is in the process of becoming an official CSA (Cranfield Student Association) society. So far we have had an Apollo 13 film night, ISS and Saturn observation sessions, and a Yuri’s Night party 2011 (First Orbit film, Vodka jelly, space quiz). We have organised space lectures (by students and external speakers from organisations like the British Interplanetary Society) for Spring and Summer 2011. Membership fee is £2 for Cranfield students and associates (family, friends, non-students), lasting until the end of the academic year. Several students from CranSEDS help UKSEDS in the MPQ (myPocketQub) project: developing picosatellite payloads for the UK cubesatellite UKUBE1, to be launched in space in 2012! If you are interested in space and the future of space exploration, want to learn from and be entertained by space-related talks and meet and talk with like-minded people, please join CranSEDS now!
