Finances

The UKSEDS committee aim to be as transparent as possible about how we spend the UKSEDS money. In future we will be posting our annual accounts on the website. We will also record any financial decisions taken at each Committee Meeting.

Update April 2012

Due to the lack of active committee members the committee ran a skeleton service through to the AGM. We focused on organising the conference. We raised sponsorship to cover the costs of the conference which were catering and speaker travel expenses only. The venue was provided free of charge. A new Treasurer has now been elected and we hope to resume a more normal service in the near future.

AUTHORISED EXPENDITURE

27 November 2011

The committee authorised the re-embursement of £111.86 to the Chair, Graeme Taylor who had purchased refreshments for the workshop and has been paying for the webhosting on behalf of UKSEDS.

Due to delays in obtaining the required signatories to regain access to the main UKSEDS bank account we are unable to move forward with the Kicksat project at this time. Once the signatures have been processed by the bank we will revisit this.

It was agreed that Roger Duthie should be made a signatory of the bank account in his role as Shadow Treasurer. He will be the third signatory in addition to the Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer.

31 October 2011
We have agreed to pay £40 travel expenses to one of the speakers at the November workshop. We have also authorised the purchase of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. for the workshop.

We have provisionally authorised the payment of $1000 as sponsorship of the Kicksat project. This will give us a Sprite development kit, including a fully functioning Sprite with all schematics, source code, and programming tools so that we can write your own flight code. We intend running a branch workshop next year so that members can take part in the project. We will also receive a step-by-step guide explaining how to receive and deconvolve the radio signals from the spacecraft which will allow us to set up our own ground station (in addition to using the KickSat.org mission control website) if we so wish. Final approval of this payment is to be made at the next meeting, when we will formally announce our involvement.
